# Why do I need to verify my identity?

Safety and Privacy are some of our core values here at Luvi. We empower Creators to post their content while preventing theft and want to protect Fans to ensure they have the best experience on Luvi.

We require checks for Creators to ensure that we do not knowingly offer our Services to or collect personal data from anyone under 13 or anyone using a false identity. These checks involve providing certain information to one or more of our service providers, such as [Yoti](https://www.yoti.com/).

Yoti can accept documents from more than 200 countries 💪
